So, as some of you know I have been attending a new gym. PeAK Fitness is down on Main Street near the Courthouse. It has been open less than a year but has already grown a nice following. They hold 5 sessions a day, I choose to go at 9am. Why? It works out perfectly because I am already out taking the kids to school and I don't work during the day. The only time it's a struggle to go is after working the overnight shift, but that is a whole other post in itself. There are about 10 ladies in the class on a good day, Saturday's aren't usually good days....
We typically work on a rotation each week. Monday: Ams, Tuesday: Kickboxing, Wednesday: Legs, Thursday: Kickboxing, Friday: Total Body, Saturday: Kickboxing, Sunday: Rest-YAY!
This week is the last week of our 2nd session. For this week we are doing Kickboxing each day with a mixture of the other stuff. Day Two and OH MY! We worked in partners today, which is always fun. One ran a lap while the other worked the bag. First of all, not a runner, never have been and as much as I want to be, I never will be. On top of having bad knees, my lungs hate me! So after two laps I was spent. I chose to stay on the bag for the remaining 40 mintues of class. After what seemed like a million jabs, crosses, hooks and horse punches my arms were numb. Throw in some exploding wall push-ups, wall squats, push-ups and weights, I was one tired mama.
You want to know the greastest thing about it all? No matter how bad it hurts while I am in the middle of a workout, the feeling when I am done is THE BEST! I feel refreshed, encouraged and just dang proud of myself. So even if it takes me 12 minutes to run a mile and I can only do 40 push-ups in a minute, it doesn't matter. I am still proud of myself for even workin' on my fitness. :)
