American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky Airing on NBC

I took Tween Girl and three of her friends to the screening of American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky at the AMC Oakview 24 Theater. This flick will be airing on NBC on July 13th and I can honestly say that it was a pretty good movie. The girls all enjoyed it as well and didn't find it too childish for their liking.

American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky follows "Girl of the Year" Saige on a journey to finding her voice. She starts a new school year off learning that her best friend, Tessa, found a new best friend at summer camp, Dylan. Saige also learns that, due to budget cuts, art class is cancelled for the year. Art is Saige's passion, and the passion of her Grandma Mimi who is a famous artist, as well as Gabby, the new girl that Saige befriends.

Throughout the movie you will watch as Saige deals with lots of change and learns how to handle it. This movie is filled with inspiring moments for all young girls out there. Inspirational is one of the words Tween Girl used to sum up American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky. She also said it was a creative movie and I will agree with her on that. The only thing I questioned, was the believeability that Saige and her friends were in 4th grade.  The actresses looked older and some of the scenes made them appear older as well. That being said, I would still recommend American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky if you are looking for a family friendly flick to watch.

Catch American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky airing on NBC on July 13th at 7:00 PM CT! You can also order the DVD or Blu-ray Combo from AmericanGirl.com and get Free Shipping through July 31st!

P.S. You can get your Dawson's Creek fix thanks to Kerr Smith playing Saige's father!
