Cupcakes, Sushi, and Chopstick Buddies

The Omaha Bloggers Network turned the big 1 and you know we had celebrate! I just found the Omaha Bloggers Group a few months ago and they are all amazeballs. I'd been looking for local bloggers for a few years so it was great to connect. MomsGoodEats got right to work like an awesome hostess and put together a party, sushi style, at Hiro88 in the Old Market. My first trip to Hiro88, my first time trying sushi rolls, and our first birthday. What What!

Big shout out to Charlie and the team at Hiro88 for making it the best 1st birthday ever!

The table was set for 15 birthday girls and boy and we were all ready to experience Hiro88's Happy Hour Menu of deliciousness. First up were appetizers and seriously people....the Potstickers will take you on a trip to flavor town. I kept going back for more and then they were all gone and I was all sad face.....I will be back for more.....

The Crab Rangoon are where it's at as well. I'm hit or miss when it comes to Rangoon but these were money. The cream cheese was fantastic and the crab was a nice compliment, not overpowering at all.

Drinks on the Hiro88 Happy Hour Menu are $5.00 and under. The Raspberry Whisp is a must sip on with a sweet raspberry taste and hardly any alcohol taste.

Next up was sushi and it arrived but the boat full. Three different boats with lots of different sushi rolls. So many that my virgin sushi roll brain forgot all of them. But I did try some sushi rolls! Allbeit they were vegetable sushi rolls and Hiro's Crunch Roll, but, I did it. Oh, and they were AHmazing!

You can't have a party without cake and Cupcake Omaha wowed us!

One of the funnest parts was attempting to learn how to eat with chopsticks with my chopstick buddy from The Curtain and Pen. Seriously.....best time ever!

I'm really glad I experienced Hiro88 finally, and Cupcake Omaha again. If you haven't tried either, you should! Hiro88's Happy Hour is a great time to reward you taste buds after a long day.

  2. Lisa! Chopstick friend! Thanks for the mention, and thanks for the orphaned drink! Someday we will prevail over those frigging sticks... even if it means using them for everything from mac and cheese to shredded wheat.

(I'm totally kidding, of course, because that would be A LOT of effort.)

    So great to meet you!
